ABOUT

I am an Irish musician and song-writer based in Cork. I am currently in final year of the BMus degree program in the Cork School of Music where my principle instrument is the Irish Traditional flute. During my years at the Cork school of music I have performed in multiple ensembles including my college wind ensemble, my colleges Irish Traditional Music ensemble - 'Bruach', and 'Capella lyrica' who have performed in international choir competitions.

I grew up in a large family of musicians where I was surrounded by music, particularly Irish music. During my childhood I played in many Irish music sessions and began performing my music in a family band called ‘The McClintock Clan’. In the band I developed musical skills on the concert flute, Irish traditional flute, tin whistle, and accordion as well as singing. Though I am originally from Kildare I spent most of my teens in Kerry where I was an active member of Comhaltas, and took part in busking competitions and performed regularly in pubs and hotels in my area. I have been writing my own songs for a few years now and I study songwriting as part of my music degree course.
My original music tends to be quite folk based with influences coming from my traditional background. I love to write spiritually rooted songs about people and real experiences in my life. I have recorded music with other Irish musicians and songwriters as well as made a CD of Celtic Irish music with my family band. I hope that one day I will be able to record an album of my own original songs.

I am looking for a few instrumentalists to hook up with to form a band, or even join a band that is in need of any of the instruments listed above, to gig with around Cork.
