I have been playing guitar for 18 years now (the option when setting up the account only had 15 or 20 so that's why it says 20 years below). I mostly play a wide range of different things from rock (Metallica/Megadeth/Thin Lizzy type stuff) to pop. I also write a lot of different types of things. A lot of it would be clean sounding (non distortion) type stuff. I've been in bands with friends a long time ago but nothing serious. I've always loved playing music and look forward to playing once I get home from work.
I write a lot of my own music for guitars, bass, drums and keyboards. I don't write any vocals (and can't sing to save my life) but would be willing to try it out (the writing that is). I usually write mostly on guitar pro. I used to use powertab for years. I prefer playing/writing to recording, hence the massive backlog of songs but not much recorded.
I try to practice and improve for at least an hour at night (sometimes work gets in the way but for the most part I achieve this hour a night (minimum) schedule).
I'm interested in forming a new band from scratch or joining an existing band. I'd really like to bounce song ideas off some band members and come up with great music together. The songs on my soundcloud are only rough demos and I'm very open to changing them if people have some ideas. Get in touch if you're interested.

EQUIPMENT
I've a fair amount of guitars but top of the pile is a MusicMan Jp6 and Gibson LesPaul.
Bass: Ibanez
Amps: Boss Katana 100/212 MK2
Marshall stack (one of the cheap ones so not great), Crate GX-212
Effects: I mostly use my Roland GR-55 (I love it) for any layered type sounds. If you've never heard of it I highly recommend it. You can make a guitar sound like pretty much any instrument. I use Native Instruments Guitar Rig 6. I also use a POD-x3 Live.
