We are not a band. We have written and are producing a record in the U.S. and are looking for a female Irish vocalist to sing the lead.
It is a folk/classical musical saga about a young Irish girl who comes to 1860s America, marries an American sailor on the journey, settles briefly in Virginia before he gets drafted into the Civil War, hates the war, deserts and vanishes. She picks herself up and heads to Californina and Mexico, having adventures through the Old West, including Spanish Missions, gold rush towns and saloons, bullfight arenas, stagecoach robberies...
The project was all but finished when we shelved it to produce a different record (with Richard Thompson, Garth Hudson (The Band), Dave Davies(Kinks), Graham Parker, Heidi Talbot, among others:www.TheBeautifulOld.com

We are now thinking of swapping our original (U.S.) female singer for an Irish singer, to make it more authentic sounding, and looking for someone who loves the story and will really be passionate about it. We will pay all expenses for recording at a studio convenient to you. This record will be released late this year, to a big push.
I guess someone who sounds a little like Heidi Talbot might really work for this, lots of personality and sensitive spunk in the voice. A sample of your voice is the best way for us to know if it would work for what we have in mind.
