ABOUT

AN UPDATE (2015): MOST OF ALL, I AM LOOKING FOR AN ACCORDIONIST WHO CAN CONSIDER PLAYING ROCK.

Aternative European Rock Project: All Backgrounds Welcome

A Dublin - based guitarist/songwriter seeks people to form an experimental multicultural rock band. Ideally we'd play a post-punk-poetry kind of music.

All national/ethnic backgrounds welcome, both sexes of course.
I’m 42 years old, so peers or at least people who are over 30 would be ideal for this project.

I need a drummer, a bass player, an accordion player (could be a pianist too) and a vocalist, ideally with a Cohen/Cash/Morrison voice. Or Jefferson Airplane's Grace Slick, or Aretha Franklin etc. - if it's a lady. Possibly a lead guitarist too.

You don't have to be a pro. You just need to be stubborn and treat this project seriously.

I have a possibility to rent a rehearsal room in an empty warehouse for 60 euro weekly (24/7) including electricity cost. Another option is an empty floor of a library (when it's closed, of course), for just 20 euro a day. I also cooperate with a professional sound engineer with access to a recording studio, who is willing to help us as a producer.

To make the long story short: I have more or less 20 songs, most of which can be arranged within a few months, it's a simple, yet ambitious music.
I'm not coming from nowhere, have certain experience as a guitarist in several bands (in the nineties), all of which stubbornly played grunge.

I am a decent rhythm guitarist with a relatively decent gear and an equally relative vocal talent. Will do for the Dylan/Lou Reed kind of singing, but I am aware that it must be someone better looking and singing than me for a project like this.

Influences: Noir Desir, Tetes Raides, The (early) Rolling Stones, The Doors, Joy Division, The Who (Woodstock era)

All the best,

P.

Influences

Noir Désir, Tetes Raides, Eiffel, The Who, The Doors, The (early) Rolling Stones, MC5. But also Bob Dylan, of course... and so on. Or a combination of all of the above. I don't want to copy anybody's sound. I want us to be something nobody has ever heard before.
The weirdest sound ideas are more than welcome, too.
