Hey, we're the ICAVs (pronounced eye-calves)
We're four friends (ages 25-30) from college who recently started a covers band. Think Commitments --a covers band but like a really class covers band, the kind that would really enhance a night out. Not just another wedding band in suits who stand rooted in place.
Our guitarist/singer recently left so we're looking for someone who at a minimum is really competent to advanced at playing guitar. It would be a huge plus if you could sing vocals too (a second vocalist would mean each singer could take a breather between songs and it would mean we could incorporate more harmonies). If you could play keyboard competently, that would also be a huge bonus.
We practice together once a week in Dublin city centre and we're hoping to play our second gig in the coming month. We're hoping to play a gig in Dublin every month or two and potentially Cork Jazz if everything goes to plan.
What sets us apart from every other covers band? Probably our singer, Michelle. She really has an incredible voice. Plus we're all friends, we all work jobs. This is just our chance to get on stage and have some fun. Hopefully that will come across in our performances

Influences
We're a covers band but all the same, we try to stay away from just playing "Valerie" and "Zombie" like every other covers band.
We try to play songs people can either dance to or sing along to. Ideally, songs you don't often hear a covers band play like "Freed From Desire" by Gala or "Work Song" by Hozier
