I am thinking of starting with cafe/ restaurant hotel music, it usually pays better than the pubs, and is currently a growth area in Ireland, then move on [ with a little money in our pockets ] to whatever develops. Hotel music leans towards instrumental performance, ie. thoughtful background music for diners, etc. [ not simply singing your favourite songs ].
